I am honoured to be invited to share conversations in the community on the topics of:
- Shared vision
- Preserving knowledge
- Enabling ease
- Structuring ease
- Pooling skills and resources
...surrounding the process of succession planning.
Receiving from the elders is like a wind in your sails which lifts your whole experience above the clouds where the oxygen is lighter and you can see the bigger picture.
Those of you in midlife, like me, are you ready – open, receptive and attentive – to receiving?
A friend recently said to me “Lexy, you’re not a millionaire until you have a million dollars to give away”….and I’ve come to see he is right.
It never was “my money”, it simply passed on through.
It never was “my IP”, it simply passed on through (I was quite attached to this one once)
“Everything comes through you, Lexy, not from you” he said.
And he would know. He’s demonstrated the power of “quiet influence”….of directing many millions of dollars using intent and care and communal-thinking.
In fact, across finance, technology, indigenous culture and local community, my mentors have all demonstrated the power of trusting co-creation.
I have come to see there simply is no way around it.
There is a huge amount of untapped intelligence in this community. Beyond the transient, beyond the transcendent, lies the physical shapes and forms which enable ease and sustainability.
So, I bring you a draft model of a social enterprise.
And, in the spirit of co-holding a succession plan for the future of our community, I would dearly love to hear your “no”s
“No, to the use of this word….”
“No, to the amount”
“No, to the idea of…”
Once the community (across a broad sample size) has been consulted, the final draft will be put to a panel for assessment across viability, sustainability and ethics.
You’ll also be invited to run it past your mentors for feedback
Simply follow the unfolding
